5 Yummy Power Smoothies
We’ve all been there. Early mornings, middle-of-the-workday slumps and end-of-day fatigue can really affect your mood and energy. However, did you know that a lot of your energy comes from what you put in your body? What happens inside you truly affects the way you feel, so it is important to take care of yourself. Here are five vegan power smoothies for when you need that extra umph.
Green Protein Power Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 ripe banana, frozen
1/2 cup chopped mango, frozen
1-2 large handfuls of baby spinach
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp hemp hearts
optional: 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder + 1/4 cup water
Directions
In a blender layer the spinach, banana, mango, pumpkin seeds and hemp hearts. Add the almond milk and blend until smooth.
Cinnamon Apple Smoothie

Ingredients
1 small apple, sliced
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
3-4 ice cubes
1/2 cup cold water
Directions
Add the oats and water to a blender. Pulse a couple times and then allow the mixture to sit for at least 2-3 minutes so the oats can soften. Next, add all the remaining ingredients to the blender. Process for about 30 seconds until smooth. Pour into a glass and sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon and nutmeg.
Green Warrior Protein Smoothie

Ingredients
1/2 cup fresh red grapefruit juice
1 cup baby spinach
1 large sweet apple, cored and roughly chopped
1 cup chopped cucumber
1 medium/large stalk celery, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
3 tbsp hemp hearts, or to taste
1/3 cup frozen mango
2 tbsp packed fresh mint leaves
1 1/2 tsp virgin coconut oil
4 ice cubes, or as needed
Directions
Juice a red grapefruit and add 1/2 cup grapefruit juice to the blender. Next, add the kale (or spinach), apple, cucumber, celery, hemp, mango, mint, coconut oil and ice. Blend on high until smooth.
Vegan Energy Boosting Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup frozen wild blueberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
½ banana, frozen
½ cup (packed) baby spinach
½ avocado
1/3 cup silken tofu
¼ cup raw walnuts
1 tsp hemp seeds
1-2 Medjool dates (pitted)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Directions
Add all ingredients to your blender. Process until smooth and creamy.
Coffee Cashew and Cacao Nibs Protein Smoothie

Ingredients
1 large organic banana, sliced and frozen
1/2 cup cooled coffee
1 tbsp organic fair trade cacao nibs
2 tbsp hemp seeds, ground
1 cup unsweetened original almond milk
1/4 cup cashews, soaked in water for at least 6 hours
Directions
The night before, brew your coffee and place in fridge. Add the raw cashews to a bowl and cover them with water. Allow to soak overnight. The next morning, add all the ingredients to a blender and process until smooth.
